Things to do in Winnipeg for Fall 2022

Though it’s always sad to pack away the swimsuits and say goodbye to the beach, there’s plenty to look forward to this fall season in Winnipeg! Many of these events are back after a two year COVID pause, so get out and support your local event planner by attending the ones that seem up your alley.

First Fridays in the Exchange
September 2nd

First Fridays in the Exchange is a monthly event held on the (you guessed it) first Friday of every month, dedicated to supporting and developing a vibrant community in the Exchange. They bring together businesses around the area to put on events, art shows, live performances, and more to bring people together. Check out their planned programming at their website, or just head to the Old Market Square and see what you find!

Le Burger Week 2022
September 1st – 14th

Originally launched in Montreal, Le Burger Week in Winnipeg has taken off in a big way. With hundreds of restaurants around the city participating, there’s plenty to try. Die-hard burger lovers will make it a mission, plotting out their route and going with a big enough crowd to only try a sample of each burger. Or, if you know what you like, simply head to your favourite spot and see what they have on offer.
Also, there’s good news for vegans this year! While there will certainly be plenty of meat on the menu, Le Burger Week is challenging their participants to come up with a winning plant-based burger.

September 9th – 11th

Close out the summer season in style with ManyFest, back after a two year hiatus due to the pandemic. Located downtown on Broadway and Memorial Blvd, this free event includes food trucks (including the famous Food Truck Wars), carnival rides, kid friendly programming, and live performances. Check out their website for event schedules!

Banjo Bowl
September 10th

Calling all football fans! The annual rematch game between the Winnipeg Blue Bombers and the Saskatchewan Rough Riders right here at Investors Group Field. Even if tickets happen to be sold out, hitting up a sports bar to join other fans in cheering on the team is well worth the night out!

Manitoba Food Fest
September 18th

It’s no secret that Winnipeg boasts some fantastic food, be it at our restaurants, food trucks, or farmers markets. All industries come together to provide a sampling platter for Winnipeg’s foodies. Grab your tickets online and get full reign of the fantastic dishes and ingredients on display! It’s well worth it just to avoid ever saying ‘Where should we go to eat?’ in the subsequent months!

Winnipeg Wine Fest
September 23rd–24th

Located at the Winnipeg Convention Center, this popular event is perfect for the amateur sommeliers and general enthusiasts alike. Your ticket gets you admission, souvenir tasting glass, and three hours of sampling on the tasting floor!

Nuit Blanche
September 24th

Come down to Winnipeg’s historic Exchange District for a vibrant celebration of contemporary art. Walk through a number of art and animation installations that illuminate Winnipeg’s downtown on this one night affair. You can either diligently plan a route through the featured exhibits, or just wander through the area and see what you stumble upon! Choosing your own adventure is easy in this open air curated art museum.

Winnipeg Art Expo
October 21st – 23rd

There’s no better way to beautify your home than with original art. Help support local artists and get your hands on one-of-a-kind pieces at the Winnipeg Art Expo, held at the Assiniboia Downs. For a $10 admission, you can meet and visit with up to 40 participating artists at their individual booths showing and selling their art, including paintings, prints, books, sculpture, glass, photography, and textiles.

Winnipeg Comic Con
October 28th – 30th

Winnipeg’s Annual Comic Con is back! With a huge exhibition hall, costume contest, celebrity autographs, and panels and workshops, there’s plenty to keep you busy at the RBC Convention Centre this weekend.

We hope you get a chance to get out to any or all of these events this fall! If you want to work with realtors who are passionate about the city they live in, reach out to Bryan at 204.891.3083.
