Walking distance from most of Sage Creek and Island Lakes, Block & Blade is locally owned and operated, drawing on fresh ingredients for their casual dining menu. Their patio is spacious and well lit, so you can relax with a cocktail well past sunset.
Speaking of cocktails, their drink menu has something for everything with plenty of beer on tap, custom cocktails and martinis, all the classic cocktails, and a signature shooter menu. We recommend the Smoke Show or Euphoria martini, or one of their ‘Blocktails’, drinks created by their own bartenders.
If you’re not sure what to order from their diverse menu, you can’t go wrong with their New York Steak or Block Burger.

This gem is in a repurposed industrial building on the bank of the Historic Red River. With great local dishes and views of the waterfront, it offers a uniquely Winnipeg dining experience.

The Common at the Forks offers 20 beers and 20 wines carefully curated by pros to provide a varied, quality selection. Their outdoor bar allows you to sit on their set tables, the steps overlooking the river, or the center plaza where buskers entertain and artisans sell their pieces. The quintessential Winnipeg experience endures here with great beer, great local food, and great atmosphere.

4. The Great Canadian Brewhouse

This Canadian-themed sports bar & grill has an extensive menu of appetizers, entrees, drinks and amazing specials every night of the week. Their covered wood patio has room for large weekend crowds and overlooks a scenic landscaped pond, the perfect spot to try one of their many domestic and import beers, and one of their standard pub food menu items.

5. Gusto North Rooftop

This rooftop patio situated right in True North Square offers fantastic views of downtown Winnipeg in a comfortable, relaxed atmosphere. They have a great selection of unique pizzas, all cooked in their coal fired oven. The Calabrese is particularly notable, with boar sausage, fig jam, pepperoncini, and arugula. If you just want some appetizers to enjoy with your drinks, their standard Antipasto can be ordered in sizes created for groups of two and four. Ask the server what kind of craft cocktails the bar has on offer, or check out something from their wine list.

With a great selection of affordable cocktails and martinis, you can spend all night enjoying the ambiance. Take advantage of their varied offering of Greek food by trying the Greek Salad, Chicken Souvlaki, or Beef Gyro.
