The trail winds through birch forests, grasslands, and a scenic cedar bog with a boardwalk. Surfaces vary from paved to dirt, and wet areas are covered with cedar chips. It’s well-marked and easy to navigate for the whole family!

 

Blueberry Rock Trail

Lac du Bonnet | 2 km | Easy | 1 hour 15 mins from Winnipeg

This quick trail takes less than an hour to complete, but offers plenty of beautiful scenery to appreciate and is just outside Lac du Bonnet. It’s well marked and easy to navigate, perfect for new hikers or families with young children.

 

Willow and Deadwood Loop

Morden | 3.5 km | Moderate | 1 hour and 40 mins from Winnipeg

This popular 45 minute loop traverses two trails; the Willow Trail along the Lake Minnewasta shoreline and the hilly Deadfall Trail on the way back. Stop at a lookout point for some snacks and a view of the Dead Horse Creek Valley.

 

Amisk Trail

Whiteshell Provincial Park | 6 km | Moderate | 1 hour 40 mins from Winnipeg

This well traveled trail features boardwalks, lookout points, and river-side paths. It’s popular for hikers, runners, and bikers and takes just over an hour to complete.

There’s no better way to spend a day than hiking around West Hawk Lake with stops for swimming and gorgeous views along the way. If you’re a novice hiker or are looking to bring young children, this hike may not be for you as it features a rugged terrain and steep elevation changes.

 

Pine Point Trail

Whiteshell Provincial Park | 8 km | Moderate | 1 hour 40 mins from Winnipeg

This 2 hour long hike may end up taking you a lot longer if you stop to swim or take photos of the many beautiful rapids along the way. A fairly easy hike with some rockier sections that shouldn’t be a problem for most hikers, this trail is a popular spot for residents of the surrounding communities.

 

McGillivray Falls Trail

Whiteshell Provincial Park | 3 km (Short Loop) - 4.5 km (Long Loop) | Moderate | 1 hour 50 mins from Winnipeg

If you’re hiking in search of photo opportunities, look no further! You’ll get beautiful views of rock formations, the river, and finally McGillivray Lake if you opt for the longer loop.

 

Spirit Sands & Devil's Punch Bowl

Spruce Woods Provincial Park | 10.5 km | Difficult | 2 hours from Winnipeg
